In Dubai, shading does real work: it manages glare and heat gain as well as privacy. Fortue plans motorised curtains and blinds as part of the automation system, so they move with scenes, schedules and the sun, not just a separate remote.

Motorised curtains bought on their own usually come with their own remote or app. Integrated into a home automation system, they become part of everyday scenes: open in the morning, close on west-facing rooms in the afternoon, close for Movie and Night, and close automatically in Away mode.
Fortue coordinates with the interior designer and curtain supplier on tracks, motor type, power points and control method, then programmes the curtains into the same keypads and app as the lighting and AC.

Power at the curtain pocket
Wired motors need power and, for wired control, a control cable at each pocket. These are easy to add at first fix and difficult afterwards.
Control method
Decide early whether motors will be controlled over KNX or dry contacts (wired) or over a wireless protocol. The curtain supplier needs this before ordering motors.
Group logically
Group sheers and blackouts separately so scenes can open one and keep the other closed. Large living areas may need several groups.
Integration with climate
Closing curtains on sun-exposed glazing in the afternoon reduces heat gain and helps the AC. Link shading scenes with HVAC control and lighting.

Motors are chosen for the control system rather than the other way round, so curtains respond reliably from keypads, the app and automations.

Can I motorise my existing curtains?
Often yes. Existing curtains can usually be moved onto a motorised track. Where there is no power at the window, battery or wireless motors may be an option.
Do motorised curtains work with home automation?
Yes, when the motor and control method are chosen for the automation system. They can then be controlled from keypads, the app, voice and automatic scenes.
Do you supply the curtain fabric?
Fortue focuses on motors, control and integration, and coordinates with your interior designer or curtain supplier for fabrics and tracks.
